Chip spot
Weekly wholesale prices for loose chips on the open market (DRAMeXchange). Leading indicator — moves first, most volatile.
Contract
Monthly negotiated prices between memory makers and their largest customers. Published as indices, not absolute figures. Lags spot by 4–8 weeks.
Retail street
Observed marketplace prices for finished modules and boards. Includes distributor margin and scarcity premium; useful for consumer signal only.
These three levels are never mixed on the same axis. Any chart combining them labels each series explicitly.
